Elongated Weekend

Well if you go by the saying: "a picture is a thousand words", I guess you can what I'm coming from with this post.

Saturday:

The streets were so alive. Performances at every corner. It was incredible...I just wanted to jump in and jamb with the folks, unfortunately my talent wasn't even close to these hardened veterans. Gosh, I want to age like them so bad. But then, not all were old. But still, inspiring street venues all about. ARGH, i need a white beard and demented calluses from aeons of musical passion.

The Fish and Chips were good...the portions were overwhelming for both of us. Oh btw, Zab got pooped on by a miscellaneous bird. She loved it. Her excitement was extended when a street performing contortionist placed her whole body in a box. I made some mean ambulance jokes while that was happening. Anyway, the most important part of this day was the pooping. And seeing tanned old people.

MORE WILL COME SOON. It's just I'm incredibly lazy and uni starts again like...today. Boo diggity.

Adios.

Anyhow...another Asia studies meetup yesterday...much fun to be had. Of course you don't want to hear about the work involved so instead I'll tell you about lunch. No one cares about academics anymore..bahah...hmm.

Anyway, we tried our luck in one of Anzac Parade's endless stream of Indo restaurants. The place was called Ratu Sari. Pix and captiony goodness:

[The joint in question.]

[Bored fellas]

asia003

[This is what I ordered. I've totally forgotten the name, but! I do remember it was number 17.]

asia004

[It was a spicy curry-ish dish. But it couldn't get the best of me! I had a jug of water by my side.]

asia006

[As with most foods (save seafood) I showed no mercy.]

asia005

[If it's such a MYSTERY why do they tell us the ingredients?!]

asia007

[Most of us were left enthused for the whole day]

asia008

[It was a mystical group work meeting.]

[Unstoppable progress]

After we toiled in the harsh confinements of the CSE lounge Amanda and I met up with Kish and Fadhly at his place on campus. It was actually quite spacious which was coolies. Jambed a bit on his DJing gear and headed out to the city, singing at the top of our lungs, for dinner at Kura III (off Dixon Street), gotta' love that joint and ther dons...prices aren't bad too! The spring weather is kicking in which is neat I guess...I still prefer the winter chill though. Makes morning caffeine fixes more meaningful.

Wowzerr...

Well, the weekend started with this:

And ended with this:

(kudos to Fadhly for this image)

Both very contrasted events...but with EQUAL SPICE. I enjoyed both immensely and would rewind it all for another go. Thanks dudes/dudettes!

Anyway, today was a group meetup for my Contemporary Asia class. Met up with Tab, Manda, Marcc, Karen and Harry's spirit. We were meeting up to discuss and compile our data for our visual presentation. See, we're doing something different, amazing and unique and incredible and awesome...we're making a DOCO. Yes, a doco. And you better believe it. We have to make a  presentation about a certain contemporary event or happening in an Asian region...we chose the suffering of the "Hibakusha" (Atomic bomb survivors) of Japan. Anyhoo, it was great fun! We spent most of the day in Starbucks (not a big fan of franchise coffee, that's probably why i didn't get any there) discussing what role each of us had in the presentation. I get to be the Angry Card Reader! (i'll explain later if I upload the video)

Anyway, the break doesn't seem so much of a break now...I'm delving into academics! And I'm travelling long distances too! Oh cheese.

OH WAIT. OMFG...LOOK WHAT I SAW TODAYYYY:

Yeah you better believe it chumps.

Adios.

Ahem

Believe me, all those who are pursuing the Arts next year... this isn't the end of what arts students can do:

Nurture that creative energy and prove that you don't ever need maths for the rest of your life.

Adios.
